Lexington, KY - After 18-months of intensive leadership and entrepreneurial training, Hal B. Goode has graduated from the Kentucky Entrepreneurial Coaches Institute. Goode and 26 other entrepreneurial leaders, advocates and coaches throughout South Central Kentucky received this prestigious honor on November 12th in Bowling Green, KY.
As a graduate of the Institute, Goode has completed a series of eight seminars that were each two to three days in length and has also participated in study tour rural communities throughout the Midwestern United States. Throughout the program, he learned to identify assets and weaknesses of the local community, worked to expand the creativity of community members and political leaders, developed cross-county partnerships, and has linked local entrepreneurs and small business owners with additional resources to assist them in the development of their business.
Goode is a life-long resident of Washington County. His community involvement includes: charter member of Washington County Leadership, 2004 member of Leadership Kentucky, Chairman of KY ASAP, member of the Springfield Rotary Club, and Spring View Hospital Board Member.
"If current self-employment trends continue roughly one quarter of all rural workers will be self-employed in the next six years," said Katie Ellis, Program Coordinator for the Institute. "Through their work in the Institute, Fellows are exploring ways to help tobacco-dependent communities throughout South Central Kentucky make this a reality."
Goode is a tremendous asset to Washington County and South Central Kentucky as he strives to encourage diversification among both the agricultural and business sectors. He is trained as an entrepreneurial coach and is a resource for entrepreneurs who want to start a new business or expand an existing business.
The Kentucky Entrepreneurial Coaches Institute is funded by the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board and administered University of Kentucky College of Agriculture's Cooperative Extension Service in cooperation with the Center for Rural Development in Somerset.
