Today’s Gases recently opened their new location at 752 Bloomfield Road in Springfield, nestled quaintly between North American Pipe and Triple S Transport.
After graduation from Washington County High School in 1992 and from St Catharine College in 1995 with a degree in Science, Today's Gases owner Tim Curtsinger moved to Louisville where he finished his Bachelors degree in Mathematics and went through the masters program in Biostatistics at the University of Louisville. During this time, Tim paid his way through college delivering and later managing a store that specialized in medical equipment and welding supplies. "I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the diversity of people I met while delivering and managing. One day I would sell a torch to a farmer or dig a ditch for a propane installation, and the next I'd be sitting in a meeting to install a 6000 gallon tank at a hospital. You don't get that diversity at most businesses."
Today's Gases has been in business since October of 2008. "It was my 6 month plan to obtain enough business to open a small shop in Springfield." He beat it by 2 months. "I wanted to bring something to Springfield that they didn't have. If you need any type of welding supplies or gases, you have to drive 45 miles in most directions to get it. I saw a great need for the type of work I do in a town I grew up in." And he was right.
Today's Gases does more than haveTCURTSINGER@WINDSTREAM.NET. The company prides itself on being able to do what the big boys can, but with the personal feel you don't see much anymore. "Don't let the small building fool you. I work with many buying groups and companies both locally and country wide to bring anything you need here to Springfield. I just worked a deal with a company to start selling bulk propane for homes and businesses at a competitive, locked in rate. If you're a company, I have the ability to take care of your welding supplies, robotic supplies, large amounts of welding wire, and all the gases you might need.
With my background in science and math, I can determine the types of gases you might need in your laboratories for your chromatographs and other sensitive equipment. I deal in restaurant gases, helium for florists or parties, medicinal gases for dentists and vets, and I pride myself in dealing with the guy down the street who has one tank of oxygen and acetylene. To me, he's the reason I got into this business. I love to talk to my customers and to get to know them. When you call my phone, I answer it or I get back with you right away."
Today's Gases not only offers a full array of welding, medical, and specialty gases, but also a full range of protective and welding equipment including (but not limited to) brands such as Lincoln, Miller, Hypertherm, Tweco, Smith, Victor, and Techniweld.
Todays Gases also sells protective and safety equipment for companies and the individual. They also offer delivery services in all surrounding counties. Today's Gases' long term five-year-goal is to operate a fully functional fill station in Springfield, eventually employing 10 to 15 people.
The shop is open 6 days a week with varying hours. "I would invite you to call me anytime with any questions or to get a quote from us." You can reach Tim Curtsinger at 502.533.8605 or by email at TCURTSINGER@WINDSTREAM.NET."
